The Architecture Challenge
Velocity required a low-latency infrastructure capable of tracking dozens of riders simultaneously with sub-100ms precision. The primary complexity was engineering a dynamic race-track generator on a live map with real-time spectator view support.
The Engineering Solution
We architected a WebSocket-driven ecosystem using Socket.io and Redis for high-frequency location state management. The mobile app leverages native map clustering and custom canvas overlays for real-time race views, while the backend implements deterministic lap-timing logic via an event-driven NestJS core.
Velocity has redefined how we experience amateur racing. Navarete's implementation of the real-time track generation is a technical marvel that provides our users with pro-level telemetry on their mobile devices.
